The Seamonsters are a Sheffield indie pop band blending ethereal vocals and ’80s-inspired synths to create their self-described “indie glitter” sound.
Formed in 2012 by childhood friends Naomi Mann, Fizz Smith, Ciara Hurding, Holly Griffin and Tassie Drobinski, the all-girl group draw influence from the likes of Pulp, Orange Juice, Saint Etienne and The Human League. Having built a loyal following through years of live shows, UK festivals including Isle Of Wight and self-promoted headline tours, they’ve earned support from the likes of BBC Introducing, Radio X and Pirate Studios, sharing stages with Kate Nash, Jimmy Eat World, Hinds, The Undertones, Bill Ryder-Jones, and many more.
From dreamy synth-pop hit ‘Lost (And Found)’ to the infectious, anti-influencer anthem ‘How to Be Famous’, The Seamonsters combine glittering pop hooks with a playful edge.
Now, the band reunite for a special one-night-only show at Sheffield’s Sidney & Matilda, celebrating their singles alongside a collection of unreleased favourites.
As the band puts it: “Indie glitter’s grown up.”
“Full of personality, spirit and power pop tunes. The indie Spice Girls.” - Fred Perry Subculture
