Jarred Up Presents:
Wax Head
+ Stepover
Wax Head’s live shows have been called “sweaty” and “visceral,” while their recordings often
draw praise for their raw energy and brooding intensity. This drummer fronted psych-punk
quartet spent 2024 selling out headline shows across Europe and releasing both an EP and a
live vinyl album.
Wax Head are on the frontline of a growing wave of British psych and garage-punk. With their
raw, high-octane performances, they’ve become a must-see act in the European live music
circuit. Whether through their brain-tickling riffs or their unpredictable live antics—such as a
fan famously shoving their head into a kick drum during a show—Wax Head don’t fail to leave
a lasting impression.
2024 saw them embark on their first European tour, which solidified their growing reputation
in the underground music scene and earned recognition at festivals like Manchester Psych Fest,
Left Of The Dial, and They’re Going to Be Big.
In 2025, Wax Head hit the road again for their second European tour, playing to even bigger
crowds and new cities. They also dropped by the BBC 6 Music studios for a live session with
Deb Grant and Nathan Shepherd, bringing their chaos to the airwaves.
Wax Head’s music, released through Sour Grapes Records, is a testament to their DIY ethos and
experimental spirit. Their music, a gritty blend of garage-punk and psychedelia, has been
championed by BBC 6 Music Introducing and featured on Spotify playlists like Fresh Finds Rock
and Rough Trade’s Counter Culture.
With a packed touring schedule and new music on the way, Wax Head is just getting started.
